PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
Dear Families,
Update on our New Playground
This week our students have excitedly watched the installation of the new playground equipment in the courtyard. With such a large undercover area, we have had the opportunity to create a space that we can use in all weather conditions. The equipment chosen by our students is designed to be physically challenging as well as fun. Next week will see the laying of the rubber surface below the equipment and the building of the ‘Ga Ga Pit’ (similar to dodge ball). The workers have commented a number of times on how safe and sensible our students have been whilst this work is taking place. We would like to thank our students and our families for their patience whilst this work is taking place.
Book Week, Book Fair and Book Parade
A reminder that our Book Fair will run before and after school on the 14th, 15th and 16th August with all money raised going straight back into buying books for our school library. Students will have the opportunity to have a look at the books during school time and write a ‘wish list’ to bring home. Students will also be choosing books that they would like us to buy for our school library.
On Monday 19th, each class will be sharing at a special Book Week Assembly starting at 1:45pm. There will be no certificates or musical items during this assembly. On Friday 23rd, all children (including kinder) will have the opportunity to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. We will have a parade in the courtyard at 9:15am. We would love to see lots of families coming along to these two special events and help us to celebrate the magic of books and reading!
