PRINCIPALS REPORT
Dear Families,
We are approaching the end of what has been a very busy and productive first term with excursions, athletics carnivals, ECE water orientation and grade 6 camp to name but a few of the highlights. At the end of this term, we would like to acknowledge those students who have made learning a priority by attending school, showing they are ready to learn and adhere to our school values.
Attendance
We know that regular attendance at school is a crucial in order for children to do well at school which is why it is one of our priorities this year. We are aiming to have most of our students attending school at least 90% of the time (no more than one day absent per fortnight). At our assembly on Monday, we will recognise our students who have met this target this term. We are hoping that next term we have even more students meeting the 90% attendance target!
Positive Behaviour
Another important part of doing well at school is demonstrating our school values to ensure we are all safe and able to learn. To acknowledge those students who consistently do the right thing at school, we will have a reward afternoon on the last Thursday of term. Those students who have not received any behaviour slips for the term (or only one), will be invited to attend.

AusKick
On Monday night our Auskick program began at Risdon Vale Primary School. Hannah and Chelsea from the Lindisfarne Football Club were terrific in the program they provided for the 20 children who turned up for the session. Thanks to the parents who braved the windy and cold conditions to bring their children along. Auskick continues next Monday, April 1st. New enrolments into the program are welcome. If weather conditions are not suitable we will organise the session to take place in the school's assembly area.

CHAMPIONS CARNIVAL
On Tuesday five of our talented primary athletes competed in the Champions Carnival at the Domain. In front of a big crowd of parents and students from other schools our Grade 3 girls relay team of Shayla Bradley, Jayla McCauley, Montana Laredo and Abbie Cowburn ran a terrific race to finish 5th in their shuttle relay. This was an outstanding result given the quality of their opposition. In individual events earlier in the day, Bonnie Holmyard (Grade 5) finished 8th and Abbie Cowburn a very creditable 5th in the girls 100m.

OUR KITCHEN TABLE
This last rotation the grade 5/6 were making zucchini slice. This is a great way to sneak veggies into their dinners, as they don’t really notice that they are eating zucchini because it tastes so good!
SCHOOL CAMP
Camp

Willow Story – I loved the orienteering, it was so much fun. I had the best time at camp! I recommend it for the grade 5s for next year.
Kate Hynes – I loved playing spotlight at 10pm. I had so much fun on camp I would do it again.
Mia Bennett – We arrived at camp, we were shown our cabin and we put our belongings in there.
We had to walk up the hill and we learnt mapping and we learnt about South, East, West and North.
We came back and had tea. We played spotlight and had a break and went to bed. We woke up and had breakfast. We then went and had a bush walk, we had a good time. We had three choices after lunch, we could go with Mr Coombe to go for a walk, or go with Miss Scott and make friendship bracelets, or go with Miss Valentine and make worry dolls. I made a worry doll.
We packed up after lunch and came back to school. I had an amazing time.
