PRINCIPALS REPORT
Dear Families,
Due to some unfortunately timed rain, our athletics carnival was held over both Wednesday and Thursday this week. It did not dampen the enthusiasm or enjoyment of our students whose attitude, behaviour and sportsmanship were exemplary all day. Our students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of races and cooperative games. It was wonderful to see so many children having the courage to have a go at everything and the resilience to finish even when it was difficult. Thank you to Mr Harper for all of his time and effort in organising and running such a fantastic day for us all and to Rob for his hard work in setting up and packing up. I would also like to thank the wonderful parents: Nat, Carolyn, Bec and Jody who assisted, as well as our fantastic Rose Bay student helpers. A team of grade 3 to 6 students will be selected to represent our school at the inter-school athletics carnival next Wednesday. We wish them the very best of luck!
It was wonderful to see some new faces at our School Association AGM held on Tuesday evening. THE AGM saw us welcome several new parent, staff and community representatives as well as appointing Ann Harrison to the position of Chairperson for another year. Thank you to all of those who attended and put themselves forward for roles. It is so important to have a range of voices being heard when we are discussing and making decisions about the current and future priorities and policies for our school.

STUDENT REPRESENTIVE COUNCIL
Congratulations to our newly appointed school captains, Kate and Brock. They received their badges in assembly today along with the other members of our 2019 SRC. Well done to Kye, Kayla, Amy, Lillian, Willow, Blade Mc, Molly and Jackson H. All of these students were elected by their classmates for always demonstrating our school values and being excellent role models. Mr Jubb is looking forward to working with this group to develop their leadership skills, work on fundraising and charity projects as well as contributing ideas for the ongoing improvement of our school.

“OUR SHARED TABLE”
Risdon Vale School Cooking Program
In the kitchen this last fortnight, we have been perfecting our pizza dough, making our grissini and preserving lots of our summer harvest for use later in the year. We cannot get enough tomatoes! Here are a few of our recipes

“ACTIVITIES – GUITAR”
This term we are doing guitar lessons, in activities on Thursdays. We are really loving it. We have an awesome teacher, her name is Kryssy. Kryssy is really kind and patient, she teaches us awesome songs. Songs like “Smoke on the Water” and “7 years’. Sometimes she brings her electric guitar and we can play funky songs. We also get to borrow guitars to take home and practice on during the week. We are really loving guitar and wish we could do it all year.
