PRINCIPALS REPORT
Dear Families,
We are very excited to welcome all of our families back for the start of the new school year! I would like to thank our hardworking teachers, teacher assistants and school attendants who have been in at school over the holidays making sure everything was ready for a great start to the school year. A number of improvements have been made around the school including painting and the removal of the pool which has opened up our courtyard. The School Association look forward to hearing ideas about how we could develop and use this new space into the future.
Welcome to new staff and families
I would like to extend a warm welcome to those students, families and staff who are new to our school. We welcome Miss Shannon Scott as our 5/6 teacher and Mrs Kerry Browning as our music teacher. Ness Bosworth and Sandra Hallsworth will be joining us as teacher assistants. Temuera Mansell joins us as our Aboriginal Education Worker, Petalynne Hay as our Social Worker and Steph Emmett as our psychologist. We also welcome back Mr Ashley Jubb as the support teacher and prep teacher.
Whole school excursion to Bellerive Beach
We have a whole school excursion to Bellerive Beach on Friday 22nd March. Students will have the opportunity to participate in organised activities on the beach and on the grass area, use the fitness equipment and playground, and to swim under the supervision of lifeguards. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to better get to know their classmates and their teacher.
Assemblies
This year we will be having assemblies every Monday afternoon at 2pm. There is a roster included in this newsletter advising when each class will be sharing items. We will also present class awards, significant milestone home reading awards and musical items as the year progresses. We welcome families and friends to come along to these assemblies.
We are looking forward to working closely with you all to ensure the best possible opportunities and outcomes for our students.
